For Shop Owners
A few things to know.
We call the region Beef Country.
Five areas north of Boston: Greater Boston, the North Shore, Cape Ann, the Seacoast, and the Merrimack Valley. From Gloucester to Lowell. Everett to Salisbury. More than one hundred beef shops across dozens of towns.
You already know the place. Now it has a name.
The North Shore roast beef sandwich (aka a Beef) has been part of life here since the 1950s.
The Hub is the editorial field guide to that place.
Not a directory.
Not an ad platform.
A guide.
Because the Hub is an editorial guide.
Shops are included based on research and local knowledge, not submissions or approvals.
If you’d rather not be listed, just reply and ask. We’ll take care of it.
No argument. No pressure.
Editorial research.
Every shop in the Hub was chosen based on real local knowledge - not submissions and not paid placement.
Because completeness isn’t the goal.
Clarity is.
What earns a place in the Hub is what stays true about a shop - how it’s used, what it’s known for, and why people come back.
That information already exists on Google, Yelp, and most shop websites.
The Hub doesn’t replace those tools. It gives people a reason to notice the shop in the first place.
Shops will have the option to add practical information down the line. When that option is available, we’ll contact you directly.
Factual errors - yes. Tell us and we’ll fix them.
Shops can flag factual issues. Editorial decisions remain with the Hub. That independence is part of what makes the guide worth trusting.
Just reply and ask. We’ll take care of it.
No argument. No pressure.
Shops are also removed when they close, or when ownership changes in a way that changes the character of the place.
Never for not paying.
Never for a bad Yelp review.
Never for disagreeing with our copy.
The Hub has to mean something.
No.
Every shop receives a permanent free listing. Paying more does not buy credibility or better copy.
Yes.
Down the line, shops will have the option to take more control. Some of what we’re working toward:
- Updating practical information (hours, phone, website, address)
- Carrying a Hub Partner badge
- Being considered for seasonal guides and regional features
This is not the complete list. More will come.
When that option is available, we’ll contact you directly.
Free listings remain permanent as-is.
The Hub is independently operated.
No investors. No ad platform behind it.
The Hub is editorially independent.
Tell us.
If you know a shop that belongs in the Hub, we want to know about it.
Yelp and Google answer “What’s nearby?”
The Hub answers “What matters here?”
They’re useful tools. This is a different one.
Beyond the beef shops, the Hub is a guide to Beef Country.
Where to go. What to do. What to expect.
Beaches, trails, museums, historic towns, harbor walks, and clam shacks.

The Hub exists to bring more people to Beef Country and to the shops that make it what it is.
